ADWEEK’S 2012 BRAND GENIUS AWARDS: An affirmation of teamwork

By Mansura Ghaffar, corporate communictions manager, New York
Adweek’s “Brand Genius” Awards recognize the “finest minds behind marketing and branding.” On November 28, two such geniuses were recognized for campaigns created by Draftfcb. Lisa Mann, vice president cookies and marketing services at Mondelez International, and Brian Niccol, chief marketing and innovation officer at Taco Bell, cited the hard work of our Draftfcb teams who spun their creative webs to create Oreo’s “Daily Twist” and Taco Bell’s “Live Más” campaigns, both of which have led to spectacular sales.
Their acknowledgement reflects a recurring theme during the awards: “There is no ‘I’ in team, but there is an ‘us’ in ‘genius.’”
Although the declaration was made official by the “Grand Brand Genius” Olivier Francois, chief marketing officer at the Chrysler Group, each award winner made the point that the creative genius they were being honored for was only possible through tireless collaboration between their company’s departments and  their partner agencies.
Congratulations to all the 2012 “Brand Genius” Award winners (and the people who back them up).  For a full list click here:
