Interaction 13: Social Innovation with Impact
By Jen Maroney, director, User Experience, Draftfcb Healthcare
This year's“Interaction 13” Conference explored how User Experience designers impact the social fabric of our communities, organizations, and society. Today, as you might suspect, is an exciting time to be working in this area, with digital devices that can tweet you when there's a knock at your door, offer opportunities to create compassionate Healthcare experiences, and provide power tools to design a better company culture. I was thrilled to represent Draftfcb (on Jan. 27 - 31) in Toronto at this year's conference, and I’m looking forward to learning more and sharing what I learn from future Interaction conferences.
On Thursday, August 8th, I presented my highlights of the conference to the folks at Draftfcb New York. The standing room only turnout was amazing, and I was really thrilled with the follow-up questions — as well as with the many folks who came up to me afterwards with further thoughts for discussion. I also announced our "Draftfcb Future Thinking" meetups, which will happen on a quarterly basis. These will be an opportunity to hear 10- minute talks from smart thinkers in our agency on what they're most excited about now. If you're interested in being a speaker for this inspiring new series, please reach out to me. For more information on the conference and sponsors, clickhere.
