Jolly Good Sports at Draftfcb in London

To celebrate the honour of being host city for the Olympics our UK office displayed their athletic prowess in an agency Sports Day.

To highlight the diversity of our London staff the representing nations were Jamaica, Germany, Argentina, Sweden and, last but not least, crowd favourites Great Britain. Events were chosen from classic schoolyard games, such as egg-and-spoon, sack race, 3-legged race, beanbag relay, paper plane throwing and that most primal display of strength: tug-of-war. Battle lines drawn, teams gathered to talk tactics and were fiercely competitive for the glory of the ultimate prize – bragging rights.

Despite the valiant efforts of other teams, the Germans climbed to the top spot on the podium to the sound of cheers as they were crowned Draftfcb Olympic champions. Sweden secured silver with Argentina making bronze. In true British style, Team GB narrowly missed out on a medal but were adamant that it is the taking part that counts.

Thanks to the hard work of the social committee and the sporting spirit of all competitors a great day was had by all. The afternoon was rounded off by drinks in the fading sunshine and an unplanned, but very exciting, guest appearance by a passing Olympic torch bearer.
