New York Unlocks Inspiration via Monthly Music Series

By Mansura Ghaffar, corporate communications manager, New York

Suffering from writers block? Creative juices not flowing freely? Draftfcb New York’s Diversity & Inclusion team is helping staffers unlock their block through song.

Our new series called “The Currency of Creativity” brings emerging artists from SESAC (the second-oldest preforming rights organization) to our house each month to share original music. The pilot program launched Monday, Dec. 17, when singer/songwriter/instrumentalist Clair Reilly-Rose shared a few tracks from her album Island in the City.

Performing in an open space near the stairs that link the fifth, sixth and seventh floors allowed her beat to permeate the agency. Dozens of staffers were drawn by her music and gathered around for dance and sing along during the upbeat break. It was clear that Reilly-Rose made some new fans.
