Draftfcb Collaborates with NYU’s ITP
By Jen Maroney
New York Director, User Experience
I was honored to represent Draftfcb along with Huge and Creative Circle at NYU’s ITP (the Interactive Telecommunications Program) Guest Lecturer series on Friday, September 14th. ITP is an exciting two-year graduate program located in the Tisch School of the Arts whose mission is to explore the imaginative use of communications technologies. In addition to my lecture, I had the opportunity to tour their cutting-edge facilities and see how students engage in interaction design and physical computing – building software and hardware that can sense and respond to the world around it.
I first gave the students an overview of Draftfcb, our amazing digital work and recent awards. I then talked to them about what I do in the field of user experience. We discussed how user experience architects ensure that our digital products are easy to use, delightful to use, and that they align with our clients’ business goals. We talked about the great returns on investment that we’re finding in user experience, best practices, and how they can get their start in the field.
It was truly a delight to speak with the impressive students and staff of ITP, and I will be returning as a guest critic. If you’re as intrigued as I am about this program, ITP offers a 1-week seminar for working professionals. If you’re interested please firstname.lastname@example.org.
