Creative Director

We’re on the hunt for an extraordinary creative director to join our team!

A creative director is a senior-level custodian of specific brands and clients. Your task is to direct the team through the development of all creative ideas from concept to completion. Great ideas and a passion for platform agnostic communication are key. Brilliantly innovative, ambitious, self-motivated and a love for winning awards are a must. You should be continuously curious and inspiring, with your finger on the pulse of innovation as well as changing culture. Leadership and communication skills are an essential part of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently drive and champion award-winning work.
  • Understand the importance of the “big idea” and how well the work reflects it within the framework of the clients’ brand and business problems and objectives.
  • Lead everyday briefs as well as proactive thinking.
  • Lead the development of consistently brand-appropriate, strategically correct, and compelling creative work.
  • Effectively work on several campaigns at once, sometimes under pressure and often to tight deadlines.
  • Contribute to the strategic and creative development of the agency’s marketing and new business development.
  • Deliver and package creative ideas with cohesive and persuasive rationales for campaign approaches.
  • Keep abreast of current marketing and consumer trends on all platforms.
  • Identify award-winning opportunities and ensure entry into the correct category.
  • Guide and inspire the team to create tactical and conceptually-effective campaigns.
  • Ensure overall quality of deliverables within the team.
  • Set goals for team members and oversee the day-to-day operations of the creative team.
  • Interact in a positive, professional, and motivating manner.
  • Ensure knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Assist the team in honing ideas they have to find the best possible solutions to the client’s challenges.
  • Assist in the creation of compelling presentation decks.
  • Foster a spirit of teamwork and camaraderie with the team.
  • Manage projects and work within timelines.
  • Act as an ambassador of FCB and FCB brands.
  • Maintain good relationships with the broader internal team, fostering a spirit of teamwork.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand client goals, strategy and feedback.
  • Be at ease presenting internally and to clients while engaging them.
  • Forge senior-level bonds with client management and their internal teams.
  • Guide and inspire the team to create tactical and conceptually-effective campaigns.
  • Ensure overall quality of deliverables within the team.
  • Set goals for team members and oversee the day-to-day operations of the creative team.

  • Advise on production houses, directors, animators, voice-over talent, sound engineers, musicians, etc.
  • Run audio sessions and add direction to shoots.
  • Provide detailed information and cost estimates to ensure accurate data on which to plan and develop functional objectives and budgets leading to stable, profitable accounts.
  • Understand the post-production process of video content – offline, online, grade, animation, and audio.
  • Understand social and digital production requirements.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in a field related to advertising.
  • 5-7+ years as a creative director.
  • Proven experience as a manager of creative professionals.
  • A strong, award-winning portfolio of through-the-line work – with specific examples of work in the digital space.
  • Portfolio must demonstrate high creativity, imagination, and curiosity, as well as the ability to think strategically and conceptually.
  • Strong understanding of integrated advertising campaign strategies and tactics.
  • Ability to judge creative concepts and copy, and clearly communicate creative direction to others, as well as lead and deliver innovative creative solutions.
  • Persuasive communicator with strong storytelling abilities.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and manage workloads effectively.
  • Be highly self-motivated and well-organised.
  • Must be able to work within strict budges.
  • Quick thinking and attention to detail.
